I worked for this company 2 different times, for about a year total. Once as a 1099 driver and most recently as a W-2... driver. All of these great reviews you’re reading from their drivers, are 100% forced by the company to leave them a positive review while you’re still driving for them. They’re NOT genuine reviews. I was pestered multiple times by the company, to leave a positive review while driving for them. As a 1099 driver (which is what they’re going back to as of 12/1/2022 expect them to deduct money from your pay for anyway they see fit, to put money back into their pockets. My ELD stopped functioning properly and I got put out of service for 10 hrs after a random DOT inspection. No fine, no cost to the company, just 10 hrs out of service, and I still made my delivery on time! They deducted $1,300 from my paycheck, YES…it was $1,300 from my pay because it hurt their “Reputation” They’ll also deduct money from your paycheck for road side services, i.e. flat tires, reefer repairs, etc. Keep in mind, they’re ILLEGALLY running you as an independent contractor (1099) you’re driving their equipment, running their loads, working with their dispatchers. Everything you’re doing for them, should be protected for you as a W-2 employee. All of these cost to the truck are on them, it’s not YOUR truck, nor is it your responsibility to pay for breakdowns that occur while driving their equipment. But they structure your pay in that contract you sign before they hand you the keys, with deductions as if you were an owner operator. Read everything thoroughly before you sign your name on all that paperwork they throw at you!!! Coming back to drive for EFROS as a W-2 employee. I felt a little more comfortable driving for them, cause you have more protection as an actual W-2 employee. But my last paycheck I received from them had deductions for a new mattress they had to put into the truck. That truck was driven for 2 months, it was a brand NEW truck/mattress. I’m an extremely clean person, so that was BS (my brother works here and they never put a new mattress in his USED truck, weird) There were deductions for cleaning the truck, and a fuel surcharge for bringing the truck back to them after my last load with them. Even after giving them 2 weeks notice. Deducting ANYTHING from your pay is ILLEGAL unless it’s for tax purposes only! They gave me an award/plaque at the end of last year in 2021 for “being the easiest to work with” and they still treat me with disrespect by taking unjustified deductions from my hard earned money. At the end of the day. It doesn’t matter how well you perform at your job, or how good you do for this company. They’ll stiff you in the end. They screwed over a buddy of mine that I met working with Efros, he had written documentation through text and pictures from Efros claiming they’ll pay him an additional $2K for REALLY going out of his way to help the company save face on a load when their equipment broke down. They would’ve missed the delivery majorly, hurt their reputation with brokers and had pay deducted from the load, had he not gone out of his way to help a team loaded truck of theirs, after it broke down! He had to get a lawyer involved before they paid him what they promised him. That’s not a way to treat the people who help you save your reputation. I highly advise you to look a little harder for a company that’s not in the Elk Grove area of Illinois… a lot of the companies here are just like this unprofessional trucking company! You’re worth more and you CAN do better than working for Efros.They are 100% one of those shady trucking companies, that are only in it for themselves. I highly advise you to drive for someone else. I would recommend working for someone who values the time you spend away from your family to make a suitable living. They only care about how much money THEY can make at the end of the day. Even if that means taking money from your hard earned paycheck, to pay for their expenses that come with running your own trucking company. Nothing should be deducted from your pay, ever! I hope this review gives you some insight as to what kind of company they truly are. Keep looking, there ARE better smaller companies to work for that treat you better then Efros… Próstread more
